Then click on Ok. Proceed in this way until all the devices have been assigned correct IP
addresses and every interface is present on the list.
It is possible verify the correct completion of this procedure by making a fresh search for
connected devices.
3.7.2.3. Setting Operating Parameters
Before the IB-ETH devices can operate correctly it is necessary to set the working parameters for
each device. Select a device from the list and click
IB-ETH setup
, which opens a new dialogue
window.
For each device it is necessary to specify:
which protocol to use,
the net-mask of the network in which the devices will operate,
the address of the gateway used to exit the network (in the absence of this gateway it is
recommended to assign the address of a Host not present on the network),
data port used,
the characteristic name of the individual device (8 characters max, default IB-ETH),
the owner of the device or installation company (8 characters max, default: CIAS).
Select UDP protocol, this is used inside the network to interconnect all site elements.
It is possible to enable the DHCP function (only if a DHCP server is present on the network): on
start up the IB-ETH will obtain its own IP address, the network net-mask and the gateway
address from the DHCP server automatically.
Warning
: the data port can be freely chosen as a function of the network architecture and the IB-
Eth interface can only communicate with devices that use the same port number. Inside a single
network it is possible to use many port numbers, creating data channels that are independent
from one another.
