it is possible to set the operating mode of the island.

Working mode
Using SW4 it is possible to set the behaviour of the island, in particular dip 1 of SW4 decides
under which conditions the island signals no answer from a sensor on interrogation by the server.
If set OFF the island analyses only the response of the sensor and after 5 seconds with no
response the island signals NO-ANSWER. If set to ON the island analyses both the request by
the server and the response of the sensor and signals an alarm if the sensor has not responded
5 seconds after the server request. This second mode is useful if the system is signalling
numerous NO-ANSWER alarms during the installation phase.
Warning
: enabling the firmware update prevent normal operation of the IB island 8, in this
condition the island can shows not real alarms. During installation ensure that

If DIP3 of SW4 is set to ON the IB-ISLAND8 assumes the events are coming from barriers (TX + RX)
and SW1 is used to enable (ON) or disable (OFF) the barriers.
