5-2-2 Water supply
A water supply is always required when thyristor is operating.
This supply must meet the following required.

If a chiller is used, the temperature of the water must not be allowed to go below
ambient temperature. This prevents condensation occurring in the PATC-150A-EU.
If a chiller is not used, ensure that the temperature of the water at the inlet does
not exceed 30
℃
. If it does, the PATC-150A-EU may trip out in use.
5-3 Electrical power connections
5-3-1 Power supply connection
Check that the voltage rating of the PATC-150A-EU is the same as the supply
voltage. If it is not, contact CHOWEL. The supply may be obtained using two
phase of a three phase supply or from a single phase supply of the correct
voltage. The controller adjusts itself for 50Hz or 60Hz supply frequency.
The supply must always be switched by an individual isolator for each
PATC-150A-EU. Use the table below as a guide to size of wire between the
isolator and the PATC-150A-EU. Three sizes are given for each rating; these are
for different cable lengths between the isolator and the PATC-150A-EU.
For intermediate lengths refer to the next larger size. You may use the same size
of cable to the welding transformer. The table also lists the size of fuse to be
fitted in the isolator.
This table is placed here as a guide only. Consult the Chief Electrical Engineer in
your factory.
(1) Turn OFF the isolator.
(2) Remove the cover of SCR box, remove the protection cover.
(3) Recheck whether the isolator is turn OFF.
(4) Strip back about 250mm of outer sheath from the end of supply cable and to
fit an the lugs to the wire by press tool.
(5) To remove the screw of input terminal .
(6) To make sure fasten screw of input terminal, after fitting the power cables.
(7) Fit the earth cable same as above mentioned way.
