This section provides important information on the correct use of the ARTIPRESS
pressure therapy equipment .

All control functions and the whole operational lay out of the unit are controlled and
co-ordinated by a microprocessor: this allows access to the stored application
programs, and ensures optimal and safe use of the equipment as decided by the
operator.

Interface with the user is through a large, backlit, clear liquid crystal display (LCD):
the display shows all operational messages, the state of the unit during normal
therapeutic operation, and any error messages.

The following sections will explain how the operator should use the equipment for
best performance, in addition to illustrating the capacity and the technical features of
ARTIPRESS .

The different choices available are explained; from the selection of a pre-stored
program to apply specific treatment, to the evaluation of the parameters needed to
apply “customised” therapy.

ARTIPRESS is a device for pressure-therapy, conceived to deliver
physiotherapeutic and aesthetic treatments within hospitals, clinics treatments .

Only qualified personnel should operate with ARTIPRESS .

This is to ensure proper use and complete safety for the patient.

The use of the device is strictly limited to operators, such as physiatrists,
physiotherapists and pain therapists, who, by virtue of their professional education,
would offer a guarantee of an appropriate use and the complete safety of the patient.

In fact, the operator must be appropriately qualified and he carefully studied the
contents of the user manual in order to use the device; or, it must operate under the
supervision of a health professional adequately qualified to use the machine, able to
understand the benefits and the limits of therapy and to work in conditions of safety
for the person undergoing treatment.

Such equipment can be used in hospital environment outpatient; nevertheless, it is
important to know that the user follow the medical instructions to use the equipment
or that he follow the indications present in the user’s manual.

Sequential pressure therapy is used for the prevention of deep vein thrombosis, for
the treatment of lymphoedema, and venous insufficiency.
