4.1 PID Control 67
Update delay
Update delay is the frequency that the feedback loop updates its output. The value is in
HH:MM:SS format. The maximum update delay is 24 hours.
4.1.2.3 Output Setup
The output is configured via the user interface of the HydroAct 4. To access the configuration go to:
Options → Setup → Output Setup
Manual Value Set the manual output value. The control output is set to this value if “Manual” is
selected above. If the control has multiple output values, further tabs are available to define the
output for each value. Values from 0.00% to 100.00% for any of “Start”, “Run” or “Fail” Mode.

Set minimum output. Values from 0..100%
Maximum Set maximum output. Values from 0..100%
4.1.2.4 PID Setup
The analyzer breaks down the setup of the PID control loop into different screens accessed from the
tabs at the top of the display. Navigate around the screen using the “ ← ” and “ → ” buttons.
4.1.2.4.1 Setpoint Tab
Type Select “Static” if setpoint value is to be specified via user interface or “Dynamic” if setpoint is set
remotely via 4..20mA input (i.e., from a SCADA or PLC). If “Static” is selected enter the target
setpoint value. If “Dynamic” is selected choose the input parameter from the drop down lists.

Output limits allow the user to put minimum and maximum limits on the control algorithm.
