5.8 Look-Up-Table Configuration
The FlightDaq-TL has a number of standard, in-built look-up-tables (LUT’s) for
converting the measured value to the appropriate engineering units.
In addition to this, the user is able to input a LUT for the primary and secondary
input of each individual channel and this is retained within memory in the
FlightDaq-TL. These LUT’s can have between 2 and 448 data pairs and the
FlightDaq-TL will linearly interpolate between the two closest values.
These LUT’s can also be saved in an appropriate Smart Lemo® connected
which enables the calibration for that transducer to be tied to, and travel with
that transducer.

For all thermocouples, the Smart
Lemo® connector is used for the
cold junction. The cold junction
temperature is first converted into
a
voltage
(by
using
the
appropriate table in reverse)
which is then added to the
measured hot junction voltage.
This voltage is then converted into
temperature
by
using
the
appropriate table.
