GETTING TO KNOW THE Classic WafflePro
®
It will take only a minute to get to know your Classic WafflePro
®
Model 852. You will see that it is
made of high strength, commercial quality high temperature engineering plastics with a polished
stainless steel lid.
To open the lid, lift it by its front plastic handle, see Figure 1, to expose the baking plate surfaces.
You will be impressed with the non-stick grill surfaces of the Model 852. Coated with the world’s most
advanced non-stick technology. You will be surprised to see how easily even your stickiest waffle
recipe can be lifted off the waffle plates.
There is no power switch and the baking plates are energized as soon as the power cord is inserted
in a three (3) prong 120 Volt A.C. outlet. The red baking light mounted on the lid will light immediately
as you insert the power plug to let you know the Model 852 is “on” and being heated. In about 4
minutes the waffle plates will be heated and the red baking light will turn off indicating that the waffle
plates are fully heated to the selected baking temperature and ready for baking. The red light will
turn on and heating will resume automatically whenever the plates need power to maintain a uniform
temperature. The baking light will continue to cycle on and off as you bake, reassuring you that the
selected baking temperature is being maintained.
We suggest that you initially select position 4 on the Temperature Control Dial and cook for 3 minutes.
That is a popular temperature centered at about 375 degrees Fahrenheit. To bake at a lower temperature
select a lower number position and to increase baking temperature set the dial within the range of
5 to 6. Each change of a whole number will alter the baking temperature by about 20˚ Fahrenheit. At
higher settings the waffle will be darker. In order to avoid the need for accurate timing you can set the
Temperature Control Dial, for example, at 4 and let the waffle bake at the selected temperature until
the steam emitted from the waffle maker diminishes significantly or is about to stop. With experience
steam emission can be a good indicator of when the waffle is done and ready for you to open the lid.
For the safety of your fingers open the lid very carefully whenever there is steam emission. At higher
baking temperatures you will find you can reduce baking time to 2 minutes with some recipes.
