Passive Leg Raise (PLR) Test –

CHEETAH n STARLING SV PLR Protocol
This option allows the user to determine the hemodynamic response to a passive leg
raise maneuver. This protocol persists of two main steps: Baseline and Challenge.
During the baseline step, the patient is to be in a semi-recumbent position where the
head and shoulders are elevated by 30-45%, as when resting on a high pillow, while
being monitored for three minutes. The Challenge step is based on monitoring the
patient for three more minutes while lying in supine position with legs elevated to 45
degrees. As the Challenge step ends, the Starling SV will produce a Starling SV PLR
report. The main outcome of this protocol is the Delta SVI which is calculated as the
percent of change between the average baseline phase SVI and the maximum SVI
during the challenge phase.
