1. The Thoracic Harness features two rectangular rings for
attachment of the straps. Use the outermost rings for large
patients and the innermost rings for smaller patients. The
goal is to have the straps positioned along the lateral rib
cage as shown. This will minimize torque during the traction
pull, resulting in greater patient comfort. Choose the correct
rings for the size of the patient, and thread the straps
through them.
2. Adjust the length of the Thoracic Harness straps as needed
by securing the hook and loop in the desired position. As a
guideline, the Thoracic Harness should be used in its longest
configuration for most supine treatments. For prone
treatments, the Thoracic Harness should be shortened as
needed to allow better positioning for face and upper arm
comfort.
3. Position the harnesses with the Pelvic Harness (marked
“lower”) at the lumbar end of the table and the Thoracic
Harness (marked “upper”) at the cervical end of the table.
4. Clip the harness straps onto the table.
