Operation of the door opener
Automatic opening / closing of the door:
The door opener can be operated using the following devices:
• Handheld transmitter: Press the button until the door starts to move.
• Wall switch (if this accessory is installed): Press the pushbutton until
the door starts to move.
• External key switch or wireless keypad (if this optional accessory
is installed).
Manual opening of the door (by hand):
If possible, the door must be closed completely. Weak or
defective springs can cause a rapid shutting down of the
opendoor,
which can lead to property damage or serious
personal injury.
RELEASE: Briefly turn the red handle down. Then open the door by
hand.
Open close door without pulling the cable!
LOCK: With the next upward or downward movement, it is auto-
matically locked again.
Function sequence:
When operating the door opener by radio control or wall switch:
- closes the door when it is fully open,
- opens the door when it is fully closed,
- stops the door if it opening or closing,
- the door moves in the opposite direction to the last completed move,
if it is partially open,
- drives back the door to the open door position, if it hits an
obstruction while closing,
- stops the door, if it encounters an obstacle during opening.
- Light barrier (optional): By means of the light barrier, a closing door
is lifted up or an open door is obstructed while closing, if a person
located in the door area interrupts the sensor beam.
- THE MULTI-FUNCTION DOOR CONTROL (optional)
Press the push bar (1) to open or close the door. Press again to stop
the door.
Light feature
Press the Light button (2) to turn the opener light on or off. It will not
control the opener light when the door is in motion. If you turn it on
and then activate the opener, the light will remain on for 2-1/2 min-
utes. Press again to turn it off sooner.
The operator light switches on in the following cases:
1. First turning on of the door opener (short)
2. Power interruption (short)
3. With each turning on of the door opener.
The light turns off automatically after 2 1/2 minutes.

Programming and use of wireless keypads:
A wireless keypad or finger-print keypad is programmed to the
garage door operator the usual way and does not require the
wired control to be installed.
Open garage door:
Enter your programmed code. When the desired position is
reached press only the enter button again (yellow button if finger
scan keypad) and the door will stop at the point of your choice.
Close garage door:
With wireless keypad: Press the enter button and the garage door
will close from any open position. Note: this “fast close” feature
can be enabled an disabled at the wireless keypad at your com-
mand. Please refer to instructions of the wireless keypad.
With finger scan keypad: Slide your programmed finger over the
the scanner area.
E. Instructions for Auto-Close Feature
Description of feature:
The Chamberlain Safety IR Sensors must be installed (required
by EN60335-1-95). The wired Multi-Functional control panel as
explained on page 20 must be installed to activate the feature.
After programming the control panel may be disconnected.
Activation:
Push and hold down light button of the Multi.Function Door
Control until the garage door operator flashes, and count the
number of flashes. If no light bulb is installed you will hear a click
or several clicks. Follow the instruction on the table below. Repeat
procedure if required to reach your favourite setting.

Disable:
Repeat procedure until the light bulb flashes 5 times.
Notes:
- The auto-close timer resets if the IR sensors are interrupted.
- In the partial open position automatic close is not possible.
- The garage door operator must have reached the programmed
UP limit to activate the auto-close timer.
- With the auto-close feature enabled the light bulb is on a fixed
delay time of 2.5 minutes and can not be adjusted.
Troubleshooting:
Question
If auto-close does not work
Solution
Connect IR sensors and check red LED if there is power. Do not
operate garage door for 3-5 minutes. Leave door in down posi-
tion. Note: The software needs to auto-detect the IR sensors.
Question
Operator will not work anymore without IR sensor
Solution
Correct. IR sensors are mandatory once connected.
A full logic board reset is required.
