12 Align the colored wires.
Note:
Cord colors should be matched to the same pins on both
ends of the cable.
13 Trim all the wires to the same length. About 12mm on the left should be
exposed from the inner sheath.
14 Insert the wires into the RJ45 plug. Make sure each wire is fully inserted
into the front of the RJ45 plug and in the correct order. The sheath of the
Ethernet cable should extend into the plug by about ½ inches and will be
held in place by the crimp.
15 The cable jacket with shield must extend into the connector about 5mm for
strain relief and shielding connection.
16 Crimp the RJ45 plug with the crimper tool.
17 Verify that the wires ended up the right order and that the wires extend to
the front of the RJ45 plug and make good contact with the metal contacts
in the RJ45 plug.
18 Push back the Cat5 plug cover on the connector plug.
19 Disassemble the relevant cap.
