External Database and Networks
The SMART 6 is designed to send data to different databases located on external servers or computers. This
allows users to automatically store data on their own managerial network, integrate SMART 6 with other process
control equipment for improved control, and obtain and review results from a mobile platform or remote.
Setup
1.
Using the available ports in the rear of the instrument, connect one end of a USB-TypeB to USB-TypeA cable to
the second USB Type B port in the back of the SMART 6 (See below). Connect the other end of the cable to a
computer that is connected to the network or database that will store the SMART 6 results.
2.
From the home screen, select System Menu, then Settings.
3.
Select Data, then ensure Serial Output is set to ON. The system will now export all data after each test to the
designated LIMS network or database in an ASCII format. The user can also choose which fields to output by
toggling each field ON or OFF.
• CEM Communicator requires that the first 5 lines be turned ON.
