5.2 Volume manager
5.2.1 Volume Groups
Here you can view created Volume Groups. After clicking on selected Volume Group
you can view units assigned to that Volume, manage volume in Volume manager
function, assign snapshot to Volume.
Function: Unit rescan
This function rescans your system for new units.
Function: Unit manager
This function enables you to manage physical storage devices - Units (hard drives or
raid-arrays). Units that have status available can be used for creating a new volume
group, new dynamic volume or expanding existing volume groups.
It is possible to combine two (or more) units into one Volume Group:
While creating the “new volume group”, the system adds selected units only. You can
use default volume group name or change it,
If you want to expand existing volume group select action "add to ..." with desired
volume group name,
By selecting "new dynamic volume".
After creating, the page is reloaded and the “Status” field should show your
drives/arrays as "in use".
For further management of a volume group e.g. creating logical volumes, please click
on the right-hand side of the diagram on volume group name. In function
Volume
Manager
you can create a new iSCSI volume (I).
