Methods for powering your AFX on and off with Hibernate mode
.
The AFX has several different ways in which it is powered on and off.
The
RESET
button on the AFX causes an immediate reboot and, from the initial start
screen, offers the opportunity to power off by pressing the
B
button on the AFX.
To enable its very fast restart and reconnection to your camera, the
Power Off
state of the
AFX is actually a
Hibernate
mode and the unit can then be woken up immediately when
you need to use it again by pressing the
B
button on the AFX again.
For convenience and also to conserve battery life, the AFX features additional two
automatic methods for entering
Hibernate
mode when used with Pocket 4K and Pocket
6K cameras.
The first method happens during the
Scanning
process where if the AFX cannot find an
available camera to connect to it will switch to
Hibernate
mode.
When the AFX is connected to a Pocket 4K or Pocket 6K, the second automatic method is
invoked if the camera breaks communication for a period of 20 seconds.
This second method provides a very convenient way to put the AFX into
Hibernate
mode
as you simply switch off your camera and the AFX will automatically enter it 20 seconds
later.
Whether you have put the AFX into
Hibernate
mode manually or it has been done by the
two automatic methods, pressing the
B
button will wake it up immediately and begin the
connection processes.
The AFX will also automatically power cycle if it loses connection with the
R1 Controller.
In terms of general powering options, the AFX can be powered by either its internal battery
or through its USB-C port.
The AFX’s internal battery can also be simultaneously recharged whilst it is being powered
through USB-C.
