front shutter button is pressed while the camera is in the REC mode.
NOTE
• Front shutter button operation will become disabled while shooting with some
BEST SHOT scenes.
• For front shutter button operations in the PLAY mode, see page 139.
• When the “Front Shutter” setting is something other than “Off”, the front shutter

AF less
Half-pressing the front shutter button immediately
shoots a snapshot without adjusting focus, so
there is less time lag between shutter button
operation and shooting than there is when using
the top shutter button. If you want to focus (with
AF) before shooting, half-press the top shutter
button to focus. Next, press the front shutter button
to shoot.
This front shutter operation can be used for
shooting single snapshots only.
Selfie Timer
Shoots one selfie (Selfie Timer) or a series of
three (Selfie Timer
x
3) selfies at the end of a
countdown. Countdown length depends on how
long the front shutter button is depressed (page
75).
×3 Selfie Timer
CS
Recording of a series of up to 10 images at 10 fps.
This function can be used only when the recording
mode is Program Auto and the “CS” menu item
setting (page 61) is “Off”.
