µAD +030220465 - rel. 1.1 - 15.12.2010
5.1 Functioning modes
µAD can manage two functioning modes by means of the parameter Pr01:
Pr01=0 ENVIRONMENT SET POINT adjustment,
Pr01=1 PROCESS mode.
1 Environment Set point Adjustment (Pr01= 0)
Adjusts the environmental temperature measured by the µAD internal probe.
The temperature set point can be set from 8 to 32 °C (from 45 to 90 °F), at steps of 0.5 °C/°F.
•
Environment Set point Mode for µC
2
µAD adjusts the environmental temperature by means of switching the STAND BY state of the
µChiller.
See µAD ‘Ht01’ parameter to set the adjustment differential.
The MODE key is not operational and, in case of “heat pump” machines, the
SUMMER/WINTER switching takes place on the front of the µChiller.

Environment Set point Mode for µC
2
SE
µChiller adjusts the environmental temperature autonomously by means of the
data supplied by the µAD.
The MODE key allows the selection of the SUMMER and DE-HUMIDIFY functioning modes (see
parameter En04). In the case of machines enabled for heating (see µChiller manual), MODE also
selects the WINTER and AUTO modes.
AUTO allows the µChiller automatic SUMMER/WINTER switching on the basis of its changeover
set point.
2 ‘PROCESS’ mode (Pr01= 1)
Realised for “process chiller” applications. In this mode µChiller only adjust the plants depending on
the compressor adjustment set points (µChiller R1 and R3 parameters).
µAD mainly acts as a remote terminal and in the models with RTC also allows the activation by
means of time periods.
The set point set by the user by means of the µAD is copied into the R1/R3 parameters of the
µChiller and vice versa. The value can be set by steps of 0.1°C/°F within the limits established by the
parameters of the µChiller R13,R14,R15,R16 (see µChiller manual).
Note
In this mode the AUTO and DE-HUMIDIFY modes are not available.
Moreover, automatic and humidifi cation and de-humidifi cation are not available.
The value measured by the internal µAD probe can be visualised on the display but it is not normally
used.
•
‘PROCESS’ for µC
2
The MODE key is not operational and, in the case of “heat pump” machines, the SUMMER/WINTER
switching takes place from the front of the µChiller.
•
‘PROCESS’ for µC
2
SE
The SUMMER/WINTER functioning is set manually by pressing the MODE key for machines enabled
for heating.
General notes:
The unit of measurement of temperature (°C or °F) of the µAD depends on the /23 parameter of the
µChiller.
Do not modify the terminal parameters during normal functioning.
5.2 ON/STAND BY function
ON
Activate the plant by pressing the POWER button.
STAND BY
Deactivate the plant by pressing the POWER button until OFF appears on the display (Fig 5.b)
If the time periods are enabled it is also possible to deactivate the plant until the following period, by
pressing and releasing the POWER button. In this case OFF is not displayed, but the MODE (9), (10)
,(11), (12) symbols appear (see fi g. 5.c).
