14. Ricerca ed eliminazione guasti

L’unità non si avvia (LED sulla scheda base di presenza
alimentazione spento)
Verificare:
1. presenza tensione di rete;
2. che a valle del trasformatore di tensione di alimentazione vi siano

24 Vac o una tensione tra 20 Vdc e 60 Vdc;

3. il corretto inserimento del connettore di alimentazione a 24 Vac/Vdc

nell’apposito supporto;

4. integrità del fusibile esterno di alimentazione.

All’accensione o durante il funzionamento si hanno indicazione di
errore nei 3 LED di segnalazione della base
Vedere il capitolo 7 :” Decodifica dei 3 LED sulla scheda pCO

”

All’accensione si presenta una situazione del tipo
• problemi di vario genere sull’LCD del terminale (caratteri strani,

nessuna indicazione mostrata);

Verificare:
1. corretto software nella flash;
2. verificare l’indirizzo pLAN sul pCO

e sul terminale (conforme a

quanto richiesto dall’applicativo in uso).

3. se l’eventuale display Built-In funziona correttamente, il problema

risiede nel collegamento tra pCO

e terminale: verificare il corretto

inserimento del cavo;

Letture errate dei segnali in ingresso
Verificare:
1. la corretta alimentazione della scheda base.
2. la corretta alimentazione delle sonde: nel caso in cui la tensione

(+5Vref 24Vdc) sia prossima a zero, sconnettere la sonda
e rimisurare l’alimentazione fornita dal pCO

. Nel caso in cui sia

ancora prossima a zero contattare l’assistenza Carel; in caso
contrario la connessione tolta metteva in corto circuito
l’alimentazione.

3. che la connessione dei fili delle sonde sia secondo istruzioni
4. che i cavi delle sonde siano posizionati a sufficiente distanza da

possibili fonti di disturbo elettromagnetico (cavi di potenza,
contattori, cavi con alte tensioni e con dispositivi collegati ad alto
assorbimento allo spunto);

5. che tra sensore ed eventuale pozzetto sonda non vi sia un’alta

resistenza termica. Eventualmente inserire nei pozzetti pasta o olio
conduttivo per garantire una buona trasmissione della temperatura;

6. se si è in presenza di errore di sonda oppure se si tratta di un

errore di conversione del pCOXS, le verifiche si diversificano a
seconda del tipo di sonda:

14. Troubleshooting

The unit does not switch on (the power LED on the main board is
off)
Check:
1. the presence of main power;
2. that the voltage downstream of the power supply transformer is

24Vac or between 20Vdc and 60Vdc;

3. that the 24Vac/Vdc power supply connector has been installed in

the special support;

4. that the external power supply fuse is not blown.

At power on or during operation errors are signalled using the 3
LEDs
See chapter 7 ”Decoding the 3 LEDs on the pCO

board”

On switching on one of these situations occurs
• general problems with the LCD (strange characters, blank display);
Check:
1. correct software in the flash;
2. the pLAN address on the pCO

and on the terminal (check that

they comply with the requirements of the current application).

3. if the Built-In display is working correctly, the problem lies in the

connection between the pCO

and the terminal: check that the

cable is correctly inserted;

Erroneous reading of the input signals
Check:
1. the correct power to the main board and the probes;
2. that the power supply to the probes is correct: if the voltage

(+5Vref or +24Vdc) is near zero, disconnect the probe and measure
the power supplied by the pCO

. If this is still near zero, contact

the Carel service department; otherwise, the removed connection
short-circuits the power supply.

3. that the connection to the wires from the probes is as per the

instructions;

4. that the probe cables are located far enough away from possible

sources of electromagnetic disturbance (power cables, contactors,
high-voltage cables or cables connected to devices with high peak
absorption);

5. that there is not a high degree of heat resistance between the

sensor and the probe cap (if present). If necessary introduce
conductive paste or oil into the caps to ensure good temperature
transfer;

6. if there is a probe error or pCO conversion error, the checks to be

carried out vary according to the type of probe:
