Setting the Authentication Management

[Advanced Space Settings]

[Authentication Management].
If you set the Advanced Space to be open to the public as an SMB server and use authentication manage-
ment:
Press [On].
To use the authentication management, <Use SMB Authentication> in [SMB Authentication Settings] in Preferences (Settings/
Registration) must be set to 'On' and the authentication type must be set. (See “SMB and WINS Settings,” on p. 8-3.)
If you set the Advanced Space to be open to the public as a WebDAV server and use authentication man-
agement:
Press [On].
Press [Advanced Space Settings]
→ [WebDAV Server Settings] → [Basic] for the authentication type.
In the Advanced Space settings, in addition to specifying the open to public settings and managing authentication, you can
initialize the shared space and set whether to allow personal space to be created. For more information, see e-Manual > Security.
Also, if you want to access the open to public Advanced Space (Network) of another machine from this machine, you must
register the Advanced Space of another machine as the Network Place. For more information, see e-Manual > Security.
