Environmental requirements
Introduction
This section gives an overview of the environmental requirements for the print room and the ink
storage conditions.
Operating Conditions
The Arizona 1300 printers will operate at an optimum level in a controlled environment. The area
where the printer is installed must be (reasonably) free of dust and other airborne particles (e.g.
office environments). The printer should not be placed in an area that is carpeted or where
routers, sanders or trimmers are used!
IMPORTANT
All inkjet printers are prone to image quality problems when there is airborne dust or other
debris that can interfere with the jetting of ink from the printheads.

Humidity

Recommended: 40 - 60%
Altitude
The printer, as a system meets all operating requirements to
a maximum altitude of 2,000 m (6,561 feet).
Ventilation
As a guideline you can use the following criteria:
• With an average usage of 4 hours / working day, a room
ventilation of > 1200 m³/hour is needed
• When extending the usage to a full working day of 8 hours,
the room ventilation has to be extended to > 2300 m³/hour.
• Alternatively: a room ventilation of minimum 1200 m³/hour
including the installation of the Duster 3000.
Under continuous operation the printer can produce:
• GTF (max): 9.544 BTU per hour (2800 watts)
• XTF (max): 15.013 BTU per hour (4400 watts)
CAUTION
Not meeting the required minimum Ventilation and Operating Space specifications may lead to
irritating or hazardous concentrations of Volatile Organic Compounds at high printing volumes.
Our employees / technicians are not allowed to work in a customer environment which is not
meeting the required air ventilation to safeguard the health of our employees. When indications
are not acceptable, Canon may choose not give service support on-site!
Also you can refer to the Product Safety Data Sheet (PSDS) for the ventilation specification. The
PSDS for your Arizona 1300 printer is available from the corporate Canon website. For the latest
MSDS and PSDS, visit:
