MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES
CAUTION The engine oil can
be very hot. Wait until engine oil is
warm.
Oil Change
Ensure vehicle is on a level surface.
1. Remove oil tank cap.

2. Clean drain plugs area.

3. Place a drain pan under the oil tank
drain plug area.
4. Remove drain plug and drain all
oil from oil tank. Discard sealing
washer.
5. Place a drain pan under the engine
drain plug area.
6. Remove drain plug and drain all
oil from engine. Discard sealing
washer.
7. Wipe off any oil spillage on engine,
oil tank and frame.
NOTE:
Allow enough time for oil to
flow out of oil filter.
8. Clean magnetic drain plug from
metal shavings.
NOTE:
Presence of suspect debris in-
dicates engine damage. In such case,
contact an authorized Can-Am dealer.
9. Install drain plugs with
NEW
seal-
ing washers.
10. Clean oil tank stainer as required.

11. Replace oil filter. Refer to
OIL FIL-
TER
in this section.
12. Refill oil tank with 1.8 L of the rec-
ommended oil. Refer to
RECOM-
MENDED ENGINE OIL
in this sec-
tion for more details.
13. Start engine and let idle for a few
minutes.
Ensure there are no
leaks.
14. Stop engine and check oil level. Re-
fill if necessary.

1. Remove bolts retaining oil tank out-
let fitting. Discard O-ring.
