4.1.2 Warnings for the tool starting
•
Before starting the motor, check that the chain (16) does not touch anything.
•
Do not work on a tree or a ladder, since it would be extremely dangerous.
•
Before starting any cutting task, it is necessary to wear protective clothing and to check that all the safety and
protection devices are efficient and correctly assembled.
•
Check the bar (15) and the chain (16) for proper assembly and the chain (16) for adequate tension.
•
Check all the fixing screws for correct tightening.
4.1.3 Filling the lubricating oil reservoir
Fill the oil reservoir (20) for the chain (16) lubrication. The lack of lubrication may cause chain (16) seizing.
The lubrication is automatic and does not need any adjustment.
Do not use any recycled oil. It could damage the lubrication pump.
Before any oil supply, clean the area around the plug (11), so that no impurities may enter the reservoir (20).
4.1.4 Starting the tool
• Connect the connector (9) of the power supply cable (13) to the battery.
• Firmly hold the tool handles (1) and (10) with both hands.
4.2 Stopping the tool
When releasing the operating lever (7), the motor and the chain (16) stop immediately.
Stop the motor before putting the tool onto a surface.
After using the tool for some minutes, it is necessary to check the chain tension:
• Stop the motor by releasing the operating lever (7).
• Switch the tool off by means of the ON/OFF switch (5).
• Disconnect the power supply cable (13).
• Let the cutting bar (15) cool for a few minutes.
• Check the chain (16) tension (par. 6.1.2).
Never put the tool onto the ground before the chain (16) has stopped its movement.
4.3 Delivery and transport
The tool is packed and carried in a 520x240x115 mm carton box. The package weight is 5 kg, so it is very easy to move
it without any special aids.
