Avoid any accidental tool operating. When holding or carrying the tool, before connecting it to the battery, first check
that the switch (5) is in OFF position.
•
Remove any adjustment key before switching the tool on.
•
While operating, when the chain (16) touches hard materials, it can cause sparks. If the work environment is potentially
explosive, sparks can cause fires or explosions.
2.3.2 Pre/post work warnings
• Never carry the tool by its power supply cable (13).
• When the tool is not used for pruning, put the ON/OFF switch (5) in OFF position, in order to avoid any useless battery
consumption.
• Always check that the safety devices are perfectly efficient.
• Carry the tool keeping the bar (15) headed backwards, with the bar guard (3) inserted and the power supply cable (13)
disconnected from the connector (9).
• Follow the chain (16) manufacturer’s instructions as for the chain (16) sharpening and maintenance.
• Disconnect the connector (9) from the battery unit before carrying out any adjustment or routine or extraordinary mainte-
nance operation.
• Use the tool only with the accessories indicated by the Manufacturer.
• Before any routine maintenance operations, read the use and maintenance manual carefully. For any maintenance
operation which is not indicated in this manual, please contact one of the Authorized Service Points.
• Keep this manual with care and read it before any tool use.
• Do not touch the chain (16) or carry out maintenance operations while the motor is running.
• Keep all the stickers with the safety indications in perfect conditions.
• Do not use petrol, solvents or other aggressive products to clean the tool.
Read the instructions supplied with the battery to find all indications and warnings about it.
2.4 Maintenance
Before performing any maintenance operations or adjustments on the mechanical parts of the equipment, put on
heavy-duty work shoes, protective gloves and goggles.
• Routine maintenance and repairs can be carried out only by an
operator
with the necessary physical and intellectual
qualifications, as defined by the employer.
• Special maintenance (such as disassembling the gear motor or the main board) and repairs can be carried out only by
a
qualified mechanic
.
• Before any maintenance or adjustment operations, disconnect the tool from its battery
• Keep bystanders at least 2 meters away, when servicing or repairing the machine.
• Only
qualified mechanics
are authorised to inactivate the tool safety devices, if any, when special maintenance is to
be performed. It is their responsibility to safeguard the operators and the machine and to re-activate the safety devices
as soon as maintenance work has been completed.
• All maintenance procedures not dealt with in this manual are to be performed at CAMPAGNOLA Authorised Service
Points.
• When maintenance or repairs have been completed, the machine can be started again only if duly authorised by the
qualified mechanic
. The service mechanic must make sure:
- work has been completed;
- the machine runs in a trouble-free manner;
- the safety devices are activated;
- no one is working on the machine.
