7. Operating
ATTENTION:
An automatic test for pump operation is
made after 48 hours inactivity.
7.1. Operating with 2 float
switches
See the connection diagram of the float switches
at paragraph 5.2.1.
Float switch G1 starts up and stops the pump.
Float switch G2, with a higher intervention level
than float switch G1, acts as a high-level alarm
and starts up pump if float switch 1 is faulty.
Activation of the 2 float switches function.
The control panel is set by the manufacturer for
the 2 float switches functioning. This setting, at the
moment of switching on, causes the switching on
of the FAILURE LED for approximately 1 second.
Proceed as follows, if the control panel is set to
operate with 3 float switches, whilst the 2 float
switches function is required:
- switch off the electrical current by rotating the
main selector switch with the door-locking
device,
- press the AUT-STOP pump button and keeping
the button pressed, rotate the main selector
switch with the door-locking device and switch
on the current,
- wait until the FAILURE LED lights for
approximately 1 second and release the button,
- the control panel is now set to function with 2
float switches.
7.2. Operating with 3 float
switches
See the connection diagram of the float switches
at paragraph 5.2.2.
Float switch G1 starts up the pump.
Float switch G2, with a lower intervention level
stops pump.
Float switch G3, with a higher intervention level
than float switch G1, acts as a high-level alarm
and starts up pump if float switch G1 is faulty.
Activation of the 3 float switches function
The control panel is set by the manufacturer for
the 2 float switches functioning. This setting, at the
moment of switching on, causes the switching on
of the FAILURE LED for approximately 1 second.
Proceed as follows, if the control panel is set to
operate with 3 float switches:
- switch off the electrical current by rotating the
main selector switch with the door-locking
device.
- press the AUT-STOP pump button and keeping
the button pressed, rotate the main selector
switch with the door-locking device and switch
on the current.
- wait until the FAILURE LED flashes 3 times and
then release the button.
- the control panel is now set to function with 3
float switches.
When the control panel is set to function with 3
float switches, at the moment of starting-up, the
FAILURE LED does not signal.
8. Motors with thermal protectors
The motors can have:
- thermal protectors with cables to bring the
signals to the terminal block of the control
panel.
- a construction without thermal protectors.
The control panel must be set to signal the
intervention of the thermal protectors.
8.1. Motors
with
thermal
protectors with external
signals
At the moment of switching
on the control panel, the
MAXIMUM LEVEL led lights
up for 1 second with this
setting.
The intervention of the
thermal protectors causes:
- the stopping of the pump.
- the quick flashing of the
relative OVERLOAD led.
When the thermal protectors in the winding cools
down, the pump is ready to restart its normal
functioning.
