4.1.7 Power Supply Board GND Connection
Connect a cable from J11 (on the power supply board) to the star earth. Please
use the crimp ring terminal
[FIX-10]
for the connection at the star earth.
4.1.8 Heater Tap Jumper Connection
Place a jumper cable to connect J3 and J10 on the integrated power supply
PCB. This jumper connects the 0VDC output from the 12.6VDC regulated
power supply, to a 90VDC reference point.
This basically raise the heater voltage supply to an acceptable level to avoid
the heater to cathode shortage inside a valve.
You can see the jumper link from J2 to J10 in Figure 30.
4.1.9 Heater Power Supply to Heaters (12.6VDC)
We will now connect the heater supply voltage to the main board. The three
valves on the phono preamp boards will be supplied with 12.6VDC.
Please be aware that this 12.6VDC has been raised by 95VDC reference
voltage. So, the 0V line is really 95VDC above ground reference and do
not ever touch these cables thinking it is at ground level.
Each of the valve heater will be drawing around 150mA of current. So, the total
current flow will be 450mA for the three of them.
By referring to the wiring diagram, use a pair of suitable cable, connect the J8
(12VDC OUT) and J9 (0VDC OUT) to the valve heater terminals on the PCB.
