3.6 Ground Lift (Isolator) Circuit (Not Included)
Some extra space (see the dotted area in Figure 12) and a drill hole have been
prepared to accommodate a simple ground lift circuit. The space is large
enough to secure a 35A bridge rectifier, a capacitor and a 5W resistor.
However, the circuit is out of the scope of this product and may or may not be
permitted depending on your local regulations – so please check. If nothing is
used on this space, the drill hole on the mounting board can be filled with a
simple screw and nut.
3.7 Ground Lug
Following the tradition of all phono preamp, we will provide a ground lug as an
earth reference so that turntable’s earth/ground line can be connected.
For this purpose, we will use a standard banana socket
[T-1]
(commonly used
for wiring speaker cables). This connecter, (which is electrically insulated to the
mounting plate) will also double up as our star ground at a later stage. A number
of crimp ring terminals
[FIX-10]
are included to ease the wiring.
Attach the banana socket onto the mounting plate.
You should now have all the components mounted onto the plate.
