Remote operation via Terminal
Remote Operation via Terminal
is intended as the interactive control and monitoring of
one or more SY1527 systems by using a remote terminal. The remote operation via
terminal can be performed in different ways, according to the interface used to
communicate with the system. Nominally, it can be achieved by:
•
Using the RS232 interface to connect one SY1527 system to a VT100-like terminal or
to a standard PC running a terminal emulator program;
•
Using the H.S. CAENET interface to daisy-chain two or more SY1527 systems and
then controlling them from a VT100-like terminal via the RS232 interface (
Multicrate
Operation
);
•
Using the TCP/IP protocol via Ethernet to perform a Telnet connection.
The different hardware configurations which can be arranged for the Remote Operation
via Terminal are summarised in Fig. 7.2.
