Normal Mode Error States
Table 4-2 shows the state of the indicators when an error occurs at given
stages of the start-up process. For example, if the CSMIM2 fails during
the testing hardware state (N2), the error condition is hardware failure
NE2. A description of possible causes and solutions for each error
condition follows Table 4-2.

Activity NE2: Hardware Failure
The ROM diagnostics detected a CSMIM2 hardware problem requiring
service. Call technical support.
4.2.1.6
Activity NE5: Booted Wrong Image
The CSMIM2 has just loaded an inappropriate image. Pressing the Set
Up switch for approximately 3 seconds to generate a reset clears this
error. The CSMIM2 loads inappropriate images if one of the following
operator errors occur:
•
Configuring the CSMIM2 with an incorrect file name, or renaming or
copying the image file to the wrong name.
•
Supplying the wrong name to any of the boot commands (na boot,
dumpboot, or the superuser CLI boot).
If you are uncertain as to why the CSMIM2 booted the wrong image,
enter Set Up mode and issue an image -d command. This command
shows which host file the CSMIM2 is trying to load.
