8 Operation
All machinery requires regular maintenance. Maintenance work should
always be carried out by a specialist, who should also replace those
parts that are liable to wear out. We recommend that you enter into a
service agreement.
Important note for control cabinet installation (UV-Control in ventilated
control cabinet):
WARNING!
Clogged up air filter!
Fire hazard due to overheating!
►
Check air filter in switching cabinet every
2 month regularly.
►
Replace air filter not later than every 6 months.
The condition of the air filters must be checked every 2 months on units
with ventilated switching cabinets. The air filter must be replaced when
soiling is clearly visible, or after 6 months at the latest.
8.1 Cleaning the unit
The quartz glass tube should be cleaned each time the emitters are
changed.
●
Remove mains plug. Close the shut-off valves. Drain the unit.
● Loosen both setscrews (7) of the blue protective cap (11).
● Remove the protective cap and pull the plug (10) from
the UV emitter.
● Remove the UVC emitter (9).
● Unscrew the tensioning screw (8).
● Remove the quartz glass tube (5).
●
Clean the quartz glass tube with a soft cloth.
● Push the o-ring (6) approx. 40 mm over the top of the quartz glass
tube (5) and insert the quartz glass tube (5) again carefully (follow
the lower guide in the radiation chamber).
● Tighten the tensioning screw (8) hand-tight and tighten further using
the special spanner from the bag of accessories if necessary (a small
gap remains between the setscrew and the cover of the UV unit).
● Insert the emitter (9) carefully and connect with the plug (10) of the
blue protective cap (11). Ensure that the plug is inserted properly.
● Attach the blue protective cap (11) and secure it with both setscrews
(7).
●
Open the shut-off valves up- and downstream of the unit.
●
The unit is now ready for use.
8.2 Sanitization of the UV unit
Steaming of the unit is forbidden.
Sanitization can be done with hot water (max. 85 °C), for max. 1 hour.
For this process, the lamp connection cable has to be removed from
the lamp, and the UV sensor to be dismounted out of the measuring
window. (Caution! Danger of burst).
