Monitoring the condition of the ball bearings
A vibration transmitter (SA) which is installed in the cylinder suction
side, supervises the condition of the ball bearings. These must be
replaced when the relevant set values are exceeded.

An temporisation of 2 seconds for this measured value to be used, is
admissible.
If the measured value re-falls within 2 seconds under the reference
value, the vacuum pump can still function without stopping.
If the measured value exceeds the reference value for more than 2
seconds, the gas inlet must be automatically closed. If the measured
value, 10 seconds moreafter, falls one more time under the reference
value, the gas inlet can be re-opened and the vacuum pump can still
function without stopping. Anyway, if within the next 300 seconds, a
new exceeding of the reference value appears, the vacuum pump must
be immediately switched off under the procedure “Switching off the
vacuum pump “ see page 12.
