Installing a Hard Disk Drive
Note: Hard disks can be installed or removed in or from the
server only by opening the front bezel.
Caution
■
In a RAID system configuration, only use hard disk having
the same specifications, including capacity.
■
Do not press the Power switch during the installation or
remobval of the hard disk drive if your server is running.
1. Read section “Preparing Your Server for Upgrade” on page 159 .
2. Unlock of the front bezel with the security key and remove the front bezel.
3. Locate the slot in which you are going to install the hard disk drive. Start with
the left-most first vacant slot.
4. Prepare the drive carrier.

Unlock the hard disk drive handle.

Pull out the drive carrier from the chassis.
