Ultrasound Operation
33
When ultrasound is running, a runtime clock counts up, white bands animate
in the channel message area and a green Running indication displays. The
running status is displayed independently for each channel or device (see
Figure 23 and Figure 24).

Monitor the runtime clock to determine how long the channel has delivered
ultrasound therapy.
The runtime is shown as Hours:Minutes:Seconds. Time segments not yet
reached are dimmed. In the example below, ultrasound therapy has been
running for 23 minutes and 47 seconds (see Figure 25).

Note:
The runtime information is saved for the channel, not for the device
connected. If the ultrasound therapy is stopped and restarted, the timer will
resume when the ultrasound therapy is started again. If the device cables are
disconnected (e.g., patient transport) and re-connected the channel timer will
resume when ultrasound therapy is started again. It is strongly recommended
that devices be reconnected to the same channel they started on to ensure
the total runtime displayed for the channel reflects the total runtime for the
device.
Note:
During normal use, ultrasound therapy may cause a temperature rise in
the treatment zone. There are temperature sensors in the EkoSonic™
