You can use the programming menu on
your BT Freelance 501 to adjust the
ringer melodies and ringer volumes for
handset and base, dialling mode and
date and time settings.
To change the phone settings
1. Press
and hold
to enter the
programming menu. The
symbol
flashes in the display.
2. Press
, the current external ringer
melody is displayed and played. Select
a new melody using keypad buttons

5
and adjust the volume using
or
then press
to confirm.
3. The current internal ringer melody is
displayed and played. Select a new
melody using keypad buttons
1
to
5
and adjust the volume using
or
then press
to confirm.
4. The first digit of the date flashes in the
display. Enter 2 digits for the day and 2
for the month,
e.g.
for 15th March,

a Caller Display service
via your network
provider, the time will
be automatically updated
on receipt of your first
incoming call.
