Maintenance
10.1 General Information
DANGER
Caution!
Maintenance and cleaning work must only be undertaken on the
sensor and the control panel after the power supply has been
switched off.
Ensure the equipment is electrically isolated before you start any
work. To this end always carry out the following measures:
1. Switch off.
2. Prevent the device from being restarted.
3. Determine that the unit is ‘voltage-free’
4. Earth the unit.
5. Cover or fence off any adjacent parts that are still live.
Only then can the relevant work be undertaken!
The maintenance and/or cleaning intervals depend on the envir-
onment conditions at the installation site. If the customer is pro-
cessing very dusty materials then the maintenance / cleaning in-
tervals must be reduced accordingly.
In principle, cable connections can only be disconnected after the
sensor itself has been disconnected from the power supply.
Any
guarantee claims will be invalidated if this instruction is ignored
.
10.2 Sensor
The sensor is classified as an optical instrument. It must be looked
after accordingly.
The cleaning of the casing should be carried out with a dry, clean
and soft cloth.
The measuring window’s protective lens cover must be cleaned
regularly in order to obtain optimum guiding results. In order to
clean the optics, please use lint-free, soft cloth. A glasses cleaning
cloth would be ideal.
Spotted or homogeneous dirtying of the lenses can result in
wrong readings. Hence the cleaning of the measuring window
should be carried out at least monthly on a regular basis. Depend-
ing on the pollution degree of the ambience possibly the cleaning
has to be done more often.
10.3 Control Panel
The control panel is a maintenance-free unit.
The cleaning of the casing should be carried out with a moist,
clean and soft cloth.
