After launching KinAiry software, click the toolbar icon
for
New Evaluation
(or from the main menu, select

New Evaluation
. Then, select the desired test mode
using the radio buttons provided. Each test mode will
reveal additional items that you can use to configure the
test as desired.
In all of the test modes, you must choose between 1,
3, and 6 repetitions of the calibration target shots. The
uncertainty budget (explained more fully in Appendix
I) assumes that one sample is taken. Additional
repetitions are not used to decrease the uncertainty
budget for the calibrated length, but may reduce the
effect of measurement inconsistencies in calibration by
using the average of multiple measurements as the best
estimate of the true value.
A short discussion of each test mode follows.
CHAPTER THREE: SOFT WARE TEST MODES
Test Mode: Guided Walkthrough
Using the
Guided Walkthrough
mode can be useful for
familiarizing yourself with the procedure, or guiding
a test where another application is used to collect the
data. In this mode, you are responsible for:
• Determining the number of calibration target shot
repetitions
• Indicating whether or not the tracker under
evaluation has an interferometer
When you click
Start
, KinAiry will bring the
Evaluation
tab forward. Navigate through the steps with the
Next
and
Back
buttons. Since no data is entered or
imported in this test mode, no test information is
displayed on the
Values
tab, and no error graph is generated on the
Results
tab.
