ELECTRIC STARTER SYSTEM

motor relay. Disconnect starter motor relay from
wire connector.

Connect 12V positive (+) to terminal (4), and (–) to
terminal (3). Then, check continuity between ter-
minal (1) and (2) when 12 V is applied.

Measure resistance between relay terminals (3)
and (4).

Starter motor relay solenoid coil resistance:

145 to 190

If any of the above measurements are out of spec-
ification, replace starter motor relay.
