ROTORS FOR THE BROWN BEDEDGER BANTAM
AND THE BANTAM MOLE
The
BEDEDGER BANTAM
(Models B565H/B590H) is designed to install/dig new bed edges at different
depths without needing to change rotors. The depth is controlled by the position of the front wheel which
may be changed by repositioning the pop pin (item #35) to a different hole (5 holes/positions) to achieve
the desired depth. By repositioning it toward the engine, it will dig deeper. By repositioning the pin to-
ward the front of the machine, it will dig shallower.
The Bantam Bedmaster rotor (part # 470-019) is installed on the machine at the factory and the pull pin
is factory set in the standard/middle position which will dig a bed edging trench 3 ½” deep, angling up
into the bed. By repositioning the pop pin 2 holes toward the engine, it will dig 5” deep. Trench width at
surface level is 6 ½”. The total length of this rotor, tip to tip is 15”.
The following rotors will also fit on the Bededger Bantam:
450-100 3” Redefining Rotor (in order to use this rotor at a depth of 3” x 4” wide, the pull pin must be
repositioned (from the standard position [middle hole]) one hole in the direction of the engine.
460-002 3” x ¾” rotor, digs 3” deep and ¾” wide for installing invisible dog/pet fence and remote de-
vice/mower wire. If used on the Bed Bantam, the trench must be refilled manually.
470-013 5” x 2” Bantam clay rotor digs 5” deep and 2” wide and is used for installing irrigation pipe. In
the standard pop pin setting (middle hole) it will dig 5” deep, to dig deeper, you must reposition the pop
pin in a hole in the direction of the engine. The total length of this rotor is 18 ¼”.
The
BANTAM MOLE
(Models B765H/B790H) is designed to install low voltage lighting by digging a
trench 7” deep (depth may be adjusted to a shallower trench by repositioning the pop pin [item 35] to a
hole position toward the front of the machine or by changing rotors). The Bantam Mole is designed to
dig a trench, install the wire/cable, and refill the trench all in one operation/pass.
The Bantam Mole is shipped from the factory with a trenching rotor #480-029 (standard Bantam Mole
rotor) which will provide a 6” or 7” trench 1 3/8” wide for low voltage wire installation. In order to achieve
the maximum 7” depth, the pull pin must be positioned in the hole closest to the engine. If left in the
standard pull pin position (middle hole) the machine will only trench 5 ¾” - 6” deep. The total length of
this rotor is 19 ¾” inches.
Beginning 1 January 2020, the Bantam Mole will additionally ship with the Ground Rod (part #480-022)
and the 3” rotor (part #480-011) which are needed to install invisible dog/pet fence and robot mower
wire.
480-011 3” x 1 3/8” rotor, designed to install invisible dog/pet fence and remote mower wire at depth of
3” at the standard pull pin setting (middle position). Deeper or shallower depths may be achieved by
repositioning the pop pin. This is a 3 point (3 points on each end) rotor which is 14 ½” inches long from
tip to tip. In order to use the Bantam Mole to install invisible dog/pet fence and remote mower wire, you
must change the ground rod from part #480-013 (item#51) to part #480-002 (item #47).
480-012 5” x 1 3/8” rotor designed to install low voltage to a depth of 5” inches maximum. Depth may
be adjusted up or down by repositioning the pop pin. This is a 3 point rotor (3 points on each end) and it
digs 1 3/8 inches wide. Total length of this rotor is 18 ¼” inches.
