ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
Brown BedEdger Bantam

and Bantam Mole
1. Read and understand the
General Opera ng Instruc ons on pages 7-10.
2. The front wheel of the Bantam control s the depth of the rotor/trench. There are 5 depth posi ons on
the Bantam models. All Bantam models (Bed and Mol e ) are shipped with the rotor i nstalled and are
Factory Set in the Middle Posi on. To trench deeper without changing rotors, reposi on the T – Handle
to one of the holes nearer the engine. To raise the rotor in order to dig more shallow, reposi on the
T-handle forward to one of the holes toward the front of the machine.
Install Handl e bar using the four 5 /16 ” X 1” carriage bo lts located i n har dwa re b a g.
Remove z i p e o n r ig ht s i de o f hand leb ar holding c l evis end o f c lut c h cable, lea ving the two z i p es o n
the le sid e o f the handle b ar se c ur ing the c lut c h cabl e.
Remove the dust cap and fi rst nut o n the clevis end bulk head fi ng.
On Mo dels B565 H and B765 H only, in sert clu t c h cab le co n duit b ul k head fi ng into s lot ted hole o f cable
brack et that is w elded t o the side o f the frame and re ins tall nut s o that there is an equal amount o f
threads o f the bulk head fi ng o n each s i de o f the mo un n g b ra ck et. On Mo dels B5 80H , B5 90H ,
B78 0H, and B790 H , ins ert the c a b le condui t b ul k head fi ng into the slo ed hole o f Bracket
(Part # 470-260, Item # 44) that is bolt ed t o the b r acke t that is w elded t o the le side o f frame.

bulk head un the belt idler pull ey (Part # 12 -22- 2A , Item # 10) is approximat e ly 1/8 ” - 3/16 ”

N ow engag e the c lut c h le v er and hold. Then release the c lut c h le v er and re c he ck the di stan c e 9.
betwe en the idler pulle y and drive be lts. Readjust the b ul k head if needed, t o
distance b e tween i dler pulle y and drive belts.
A ssure the b ul k head nuts are ht and replace dust cap.

With c lu tc h le v er eng a ge d, assure that the lever is parallel t o hand lebar (b end if needed) and releases
properly and does not dr ag o r han g up o n the handl ebar tu b e. I f lever does dr ag o r hang up, use a
screwdriver t o open up the r ig ht side flange o f the le ver that is han gi n g up. Operate the c lut c h le v e r
s ever al t o assure that it returns t o neutral n qu ick l y w hen released.
On all Bantam Mo le mo dels (R795H, R7 80H , & R79 0H) i nstall the wi re spoo l brack ets (Part #480- 257)
and the spoo l holder (Part #480-009).
