Role and Operating procedure of the VR Adjustment Tool

1.2.1

Role of the VR Adjustment Tool

This tool displays the VR value. Based on this value, turn the VR adjustment screw to

perform VR adjustment. For the QL-720NW, communication via the RS-232C cable is

also checked during VR adjustment.
Omission of VR adjustment may hinder correct operation of the “Sensor white/black

level check” (inspection items in the Serviceman Software Tool).

1.2.2

Performing of the Inspection

(1) Connect the machine to the PC with a communication cable. Use a USB cable for

the QL-710W and an RS-232C cable for the QL-720NW. After connecting the

power cable to the machine, turn ON the power.

NOTE:

The connection method differs depending on the model.

• QL-710W: Connect the machine to the PC with a USB cable.
• QL720NW: Connect the machine to the PC with an RS-232C cable.

(2) Start the VR Adjustment Tool ([VR] - [ProductChkTool.exe]).

The VR Adjustment Tool differs for the QL-710W and QL-720NW. Use the correct

tool according to the model. Descriptions hereafter are based on the tool for the

QL-720NW.
