To retrieve the License Key from a RAIDCore controller using
bcadm
, perform the following steps.
1.
Type the following in a terminal window:
bcadm --license --display
The output is shown below.

Provide your local distributor this license key when purchasing an upgrade for your RAIDCore controller.
Following your purchase, you will receive your Upgrade License Key from Broadcom. Once you have received
this key, update the controller by performing the following steps:

Type the following in a terminal window, entering the appropriate serial number:
bcadm --license --update <new_license_key>
4.
Verify that the new License Key was successfully installed by typing the following:
bcadm --license --display
The output is shown below.

If this matches the number you entered in the previous step, the License Key has been successfully updated.
Note:
The key you were issued will only work on the board for which you originally submitted the
original license key.
Note:
License Keys and Upgrade Keys are unique for each board and cannot be used to upgrade
alternate boards.
