Information on operation
Observe the local regulations on operating lawn
mowers.
Check the terrain to be mowed completely and
carefully and remove all foreign bodies
Operate the mower only if no other persons are
within the working area
Use the mower only if visibility is good
Do not push the mower faster than walking pace
Mow only with a sharp cutting blade
Do not mow over obstacles (e.g. branches, roots
of trees)
Mow only across slopes. Do not use the mower up
or down slopes and not on slopes with more than
a slant of 20 degrees
Added care must be taken on slopes when changing
direction
Tips for mowing
Start mowing as close to the socket as possible
Always keep the extension cable on the previously
mowed lawn area
Constant cutting height 3–5 cm, do not cut more
than half the height of the lawn
Do not overload the lawn mower! If the motor speed
is greatly reduced due to long, heavy grass, raise the
cutting height and mow several times
Mow in the morning or late afternoon to protect the
freshly cut lawn from drying out
During strong growth periods, mow twice a week;
in times of less rain, mow accordingly more seldom
Storage
Always store the unit with the mains plug pulled
Store the mower in a dry place and inaccessible to
children and unauthorized persons
The mower can be stored upright on the grass
catcher to save space
Attention!
Cover the cutting blade and protect it against
accidental contact.
Repairs
Repairs must only be carried out at AL-KO service
centres or authorized specialist firms
To avoid an imbalance, the cutting units and the
fastening bolts must only be replaced as a set
Maintenance and care
Danger - risk of injury!
Always pull the mains plug before carrying out
maintenance and care!
Always wear work gloves when carrying out
maintenance on the cutter blade!
Non-balanced cutter blades cause serious
vibrations and damage the mower.
Regularly check the grass catcher system for correct
function and wear
After mowing, thoroughly clean the mower with
a hand broom or a cloth. Dirt left on the underside of
the mower can impair its proper function
Do not hose down the unit with water! Water can
damage the switch / plug combination and the
electric motor
Regularly check the cutter blade for damage. Have the
blunt or damaged cutter blades sharpened or replaced
only at an
AL-KO service centre or authorized specialist
firm. Re-sharpened cutter blades must be balanced.
The tightening torque of the blade screw is as follows
32 cm blade: 8 Nm
36 cm blade: 15 Nm
41 cm blade: 15 Nm
Attention!
Cutting blade and motor shaft must not be aligned
if damaged!
After maintenance work on isolation parts
(e.g. exchange of the cutting blades), an isolation
protection test must be performed according to
Guideline VDE 701.
