and operation procedures with
the wheelchair lift sales represen-
tative.
The lift owner's (operator's)
manual must be stored in the
lift-mounted manual storage
pouch at all times
.
Preventive Maintenance
:
Maintenance is necessary to
ensure safe and troublefree lift
operation. General preventive lift
maintenance consisting of
careful
inspections of the lift
system and cleaning the lift
should be a part of your transit
agency's daily lift service pro-
gram. Simple inspections can
detect potential lift operational
problems.
WARNING
Maintenance and
lubrication proce-
dures must be per-
formed by authorized
service personnel as
specified in the
applicable installa-
tion/service manual.
Failure to do so may
result in serious
bodily injury and/or
property damage.
Regular preventive maintenance
will reduce potential lift operation
downtime and increase the
service life of the lift, as well as
possibly detecting potential
hazards.
Exposure to harsh weather
elements, environmental condi-
tions, or heavy usage may require
more frequent maintenance and
lubrication procedures.
Preventive maintenance visual
inspections
do not
take the place
of the procedures specified in the
Maintenance and Lubrication
Schedule provided in the appli-
cable lift installation and service
manual. Refer to the Mainte-
nance and Lubrication section in
this manual for further details.
