Description of pump test
!
If the required power is set higher than that
specified in the setpoints of the TestData CD during
the pump test sequences, depending on the ambient
temperature or ambient pressure, the EPS 708 may
shut down when the limit is reached.
Once the test has been started and Automatic
mode activated, the waiting time or measuring time
commences as soon as the specified setpoints are
attained. After these times have elapsed, the EPS945
system software automatically switches to the next test
step and saves the test results in the test log.
When the last test step is reached and the measuring
times have elapsed, the EPS 708 comes to a stop and
the test is complete. Press <
F12
> to view the log. <

saves the data so that it can be recalled in the history.

Please refer to the Online Help for a more detailed
description of the EPS945 system software.

All information (part number, dimensions etc.)
for clamping components and drive couplings
required for clamping the pump can be found on
the ToolsCATAlogue special accessories CD.

Safety shutdown! Zero delivery
terminated! Differential pressure
has exceeded specification!

When testing common rail pumps,
the current for controlling the
actuator is not being adjusted.
Causes:
1. The actuator (EAV, DRV, DMV or
ZME) of the common rail pump has
a short-circuited turn.
1. Check the common rail
pump for short-circuited
turns before mounting.
1. No readings or highly fluctuating
readings due to dirt or metal
particles in the gear pump or in the
control piston of the flow meter.
Characteristics of these faults may
be the following: Hose (test oil
inlet) to flow meter is completely
filled with test oil (no flow of
the test oil) or test oil level in
hose (test oil inlet) to flow meter
increases and decreases.
2. No or very high readings due to
air in the volume meter cylinder.
This causes the control piston to
get stuck on one side.
Check hose (test oil inlet);
clean (sec. 5.5.1) and vent
volume meter (sec. 5.5.2)
