Objects with a shape similar to a human and
which are radiating sufficient levels of heat are
detected.
The system also detects animals of a certain
size, for example deer.

Person recognition: up to approximately
100 m, 330 ft.

Recognition of larger animals: up to approxi‐

Recognition of animals of average size: up to
approximately 70 m, 230 ft.
Environmental influences can restrict the availa‐
bility of object detection.
If the vehicle systems detect that the vehicle is in
a built-up area, animal detection is temporarily
switched off.
