Possible cause:
The integral battery in the anti-
theft alarm (DWA) has lost a
significant proportion of its ori-
ginal capacity. There is no as-
surance of how long the DWA
anti-theft alarm can remain op-
erational if the vehicle's battery
is disconnected.
Seek the advice of a special-
ist workshop, preferably an
authorised BMW Motorrad
dealer.

anti-theft alarm will be opera-
tional if the vehicle's battery is
disconnected.

dealer.
Electronic oil-level check
The electronic oil-level
check assesses the oil
level in the engine as
OK
or
Low!
The following preconditions
have to be satisfied for elec-
tronic oil-level checking, and
several measurements might
have to be taken:
Rider is sitting on the vehicle
and vehicle has just been rid-
den at a speed of at least
10 km/h.
Engine idling for at least 20
seconds.
Engine is at operating tempe-
rature.
Vehicle is standing upright on
a smooth, level surface.
Side stand is retracted and
vehicle is not propped on its
centre stand.
