Setup Guide
2.2 About this Guide
Scope:
The purpose of this document, Setup Guide, is to describe the initial set-up of the BT-CMTS Series. This includes the BT-
CMTS-3000
,
BT-CMTS-3210
, and the
BT-CMTS-31000 models. The guide covers the requirements and recommendations
as pre-requisites for configuration of the CMTS, including setting up proper IP requirements and setting & configuration of
RF QAM upstream and downstream channels. Also covered is explanation on how connect to the GUI, a short description of
the Basic User Interface as well as how to get access to the embedded user manual through the GUI.
The intended audience, for the information in this guide, consists of individuals involved in preparing an installation site for
equipment installation or involved in the setup and installation of the CMTS.
Summary of various tasks to setup the CMTS and its environment:

Create a private LAN by using a router
• Set up a DHCP/TFTP server
•
Configure the CMTS to run on the LAN
•
Integrate the downstream and upstream RF channels within the existing RF network
