waistbelt fits snugly around your waist,
above your hipbone (figure 3).
Warning: The webbing tails are sewn over
to prevent them from being removed from
the buckles. Do not attempt to remove the
webbing from the buckle.
3. Tighten both leg buckles (e) until the
leg loops fit comfortably (figure 3). Note:
Check your harness frequently to ensure it
remains adjusted properly—snug yet not
uncomfortably tight.
4. At least 8 cm (3 in) of webbing tail must
extend from the waistbelt buckle (figure 4)
after it has been adjusted correctly.
5. Center the rear elastic straps so the
plastic buckles are aligned with your
backbone.
SIZING PRECAUTIONS

The Black Diamond Vario Speed Harness is one-size-fits-all, and will fit
most adults having waists up to 107 cm (42 in). The Vario Speed is not
recommended for people weighing 114 kg (250 lb) or more. Persons under
the age of 18 must use this harness under adult supervision.

It is essential that your harness fits
you properly. Before using your harness,
carefully hang in it to ensure that it fits
well and that you’ve adjusted it for a
comfortable fit.
♦ If you are uncertain whether your
harness fits you correctly consult with a
qualified climbing instructor.
TYING IN
♦
Tie the climbing rope in to the tie-in
loop as shown in figure 5. Failure to tie in
correctly can result in severe injury or death!
