12.4 Color Modes
Color modes define how the Ultra Remote transmits color information in the
video data to the Viewer. These modes balance color resolution against
transmission speed. Like the other modes in this chapter, color modes are set
using the View menu. The currently active color mode is marked with a dot to the
left of its entry in the View menu.
Figure 12-4 shows typical, very rough examples of how each mode looks; the
table below the screen shots gives an approximation of the tradeoffs involved.
(These characterizations are approximate; actual results depend on the nature of
the screens. If the images are mostly solid colors, reducing the color quality will
have little effect on the transmission speed. If the images contain gradients or
complex graphics, the speed increase may be dramatic.)
