BOOSTING USING THE BATTERY CLAMPS

  1. Make sure all the unit functions are turned off and the AC Charging Adapter is disconnected.

  2. Insert the double barrel tip of the Battery Clamp cable into the double barrel tip of the Double Barrel Charger 

Connector (male-to-female and female-to-male) on the left side side of unit.

  3. Set up the unit as described in the “Preparing to Charge/Boost Using the Included Battery Clamps” section 

of the Important Safety Instructions at the beginning of this manual. 

Follow all directions and observe all 

warnings and cautions.

  4. When the unit is properly connected, press the Main Power Button to turn the unit on. The Operating Status 

LED Indicator Ring will light one of the three colors (blue, yellow or red) as described in the “Battery Status 

(Standby) Mode” section of “Reading the Operating Status LED Indicator Ring”.

  5. The unit will automatically detect the vehicle battery status and determine the booster period for the vehicle 

battery. The Operating Status LED Indicator Ring will flash or light in one of three colors (green, yellow or 

red) as described in the “Booster Mode” section of “Reading the Operating Status LED Indicator Ring”.

 IMPORTANT:

–  If it detects that the vehicle battery has sufficient power to charge the unit’s internal battery, the unit 

may switch to Charging Mode and the Operating Status LED Indicator Ring will flash blue.

–  If it detects the unit is overheated, the Operating Status LED Indicator Ring will flash red and blue 

alternately to indicate a fault has occurred.

–  If it detects the unit’s internal battery is in extremely low charged state (0%), the built-in low voltage 

protection will activate and the Operating Status LED Indicator Ring will flash red and yellow alternately 

before automatically shut down. 

–  If it detects that the vehicle battery is in fault condition due to lead sulfation or an internal shorted 

cell, the Operating Status LED Indicator Ring will flash red and green alternately and the unit will stop 

operating until the unit is disconnected from the faulty battery.

  6. When the Operating Status LED Indicator Ring lights solid green, the vehicle is ready to be started.

  7. Turn on the ignition and crank the engine in 5-6 second bursts until the engine starts.

–  If the vehicle doesn’t start after the first attempt; press the Main Power Button to turn the unit off and 

allow a resting/cooling period of 4 to 5 minutes before a making second attempt.

–  If a second attempt doesn’t start the vehicle, discontinue use and look for other problems that need to 

be corrected. The battery may be damaged.

  8. When the process is completed, press the Main Power Button to turn the unit off. First remove the clamp 

from vehicle chassis, and then remove the clamp from the battery terminal. Disconnect the double barrel 

tip of the Battery Clamp cable from the Double Barrel Charger Connector. Store the Battery Clamps in a safe 

place. Recharge the unit fully.

Note: 

If the unit remains connected to the vehicle after starting and the Main Power Button has not been turned off, the unit will revert to 

Charging Mode. The Operating Status LED Indicator Ring will flash blue, indicating the unit’s internal battery is charging from the 

vehicle battery.

USING THE USB PORT

The USB Port is located on the right side of the unit. Refer to the “Features” section to locate.

  1. Make sure the AC Charging Adapter is disconnected.

  2. Press the Main Power Button to turn the unit on. 

  3. Press and hold the USB/Light Button for about 

two seconds

 and then release. The USB Power/Fault 

Indicator will light blue, indicating the USB Port is ready to use.

  4. Plug the USB-powered device into the USB Port and operate normally.

  5. Press and hold the USB/Light Button for about two seconds again and then release to turn off the USB Port. 

Press the Main Power Button to turn the unit off.

Periodically check the unit’s internal battery status (refer to the “Reading the Operating Status LED Indicator 

Ring” section for details). 
Recharge the unit fully after each use. Make sure the Main Power Button is switched off (the the Operating 

Status LED Indicator Ring is not lit) when the unit is being recharged or stored.

Notes:

  This unit’s USB port does not support data communication. It only provides 5 volts/2,000mA DC power to an external USB-powered 

device. 

 

Some USB-powered household electronics may not operate with this USB port. Check the manual of the corresponding electronic 

device to confirm that it can be used with this type of USB port.

 

The USB Power/Fault Indicator will flash blue to indicate a low battery, overload, or short circuit fault condition before automatic 

shutdown occurs. 

USING THE AREA LIGHT

The Area Light is located on the right side of the unit. Refer to the “Features” section to locate.

  1. Press the Main Power Button to turn the unit on.

  2. Press the USB/Light Button once to turn the area light on.

  3. Press the USB/Light Button again to turn the area light off.

  4. Press the Main Power Button to turn the unit off.
Periodically check the unit’s internal battery status (refer to the “Reading the Operating Status LED Indicator 

Ring” section for details). 
Recharge the unit fully after each use. Make sure the Main Power Button is switched off (the the Operating 

Status LED Indicator Ring is not lit) when the unit is being recharged or stored.

TROUBLESHOOTING

CHARGING

Unit will not charge using the AC Charging Adapter

• Check the connection between the barrel connector of the AC Charging Adapter and the AC-DC Charging Port. 

Check the connection between the AC Charging Adapter and the AC outlet.

• Confirm there is a functioning AC current.

Unit will not charge using the 12V DC Boosting/Charging Cable

• Make sure the AC Charging Adapter is disconnected.

• Make sure the Main Power Button has been turned on.

• Check the connection between the double barrel tip of the 12V DC Boosting/Charging Cable and the Double 

Barrel Charger Connector on the unit. Check the connection between the 12V DC Boosting/Charging Cable 

plug and the vehicle’s 12 volt DC accessory outlet. Rotate the adapter plug slightly to make sure there is good 

contact.

• Make sure the USB/Light Button has been pressed and held for about 5 seconds, then released to put the unit 

in Charging Mode.

• The vehicle battery may be in fault condition or has insufficient power to charge the unit’s battery.

• The unit may have overheated after long term operation or charging (the Operating Status LED Indicator Ring 

flashes blue and red alternately). Unplug the 12V DC Boosting/Charging Cable and allow the unit to cool down 

approximately a half-hour before resuming any operation.

• Check that the fuse in the 12V DC Boosting/Charging Cable is not blown.

Unit will not charge using the Battery Clamps

• Make sure the AC Charging Adapter is disconnected.

• Make sure the Main Power Button has been turned on.

• Check the connection between the double barrel tip of the Battery Clamp cable and the Double Barrel Charger 

Connector on the unit. Check the connection of the clamps to the vehicle battery terminal and the vehicle 

chassis.

• Make sure the USB/Light Button has been pressed and held for about 5 seconds, then released to put the unit 

in Charging Mode.

• The vehicle battery may be in fault condition or has insufficient power to charge the unit’s battery.

• The unit may have overheated after long term operation or charging (the Operating Status LED Indicator Ring 

flashes blue and red alternately). Disconnect the Battery Clamps and allow the unit to cool down approximately 

a half-hour before resuming any operation.
