Solution
Instrument won’t start after
pressing the I/O button.
•
Cable is not connected properly
•
Cable or power supply unit are
damaged.
•
Mechanic parts of the instrument
may be defect or damaged.
•
Replace cable or power supply unit
with one provided by BIOREBA.
•
Do not further use the instrument
and contact [email protected].
Homogenate is spilling out
of the extraction bag during
homogenization.
•
Buffer and/or sample volume has
been exceeded.
•
The rack has not been closed
tightly (Fig. 3).
•
Do not exceed the volumes descri-
bed in table 1.
•
Pull the clamping-screws tightly
(Fig. 3).
Extraction bag breaks during
homogenization.
•
Too much pressure has been ap-
plied to the sample.
•
Sample may be too hard/edgy
(e.g., wood samples, hard roots or
big seeds).
•
Avoid applying pressure to the
sample. The weight of the homo-
genizing head should be enough to
homogenize most of the samples.
•
Pre-treat hard samples with a
rubber hammer or pre-soak them
in buffer for several hours before
homogenization.
Sample is not homogenized
appropriately.
•
Some samples such as seeds or
woody samples may need pre-tre-
atment.
•
For seeds it is recommended to
soak them in buffer for at least 4
hours prior to homogenization.
•
For woody samples a pre-treatment
with a rubber hammer is recom-
mended.
•
Try to modify the speed of homo-
genization to obtain better results.
