ENGINE OIL
Long engine life depends much on the selection of a
quality oil and the periodic changing of the oil. Daily
oil level checks and periodic changes are two of the
most important maintenance items to be performed.
Engine oil level check
The engine oil level has to be on 2/3 of the distance
between upper (
1
) and lower (
2
) line on the right
side of the inspection window (
3
).
Follow the procedure below to inspect the engine
oil level.
1. Start the engine and run it for a few minutes. Be
sure that the oil pressure indicator light is off; if
the oil pressure indicator keeps on being on, stop
immediately the engine.
2. Stop the engine and hold the motorcycle vertically
on level ground.
3. After 3 minutes inspect the engine oil level
through the inspection window on the right side
of the engine: the oil level has to be between the
signs on the right of the inspection window (
